Winery Review: Dry white wine made from the Riesling grape grown in Columbia Valley, Washington. Fresh, light bodied and slightly tangy, with white peach and white nectarine flavors.

-(F.D. 3.7/5).

 

Wine Folly: On page 158 of the book, I get the hints of lime and citrus. 

 

My Review: Smell light crisp green apple, fresh, fruit skins and lemon zest. It tastes dry, light, very acidic, citrus, and mineral.

Tasting - Giretto Pinat Grigio

  Name: Giretto Variety: Pinot Grigio Region: Delle Venezie Country: Italy Year: 2021 Price: $7.00   Winery Review: Lemon and Pear on the nose of this white wine from Italy. It is dry with light Citrus and Acidity. Flavors of Lemon, Pear, Green Apple and Melon. Good Value wine – (E.W 3.5).   Wine Folly: pg 149: The book talks of Pinot Grigio being acidic with a light body, and elements of peach, lemon zest, cantaloupe, raw almond, and crushed gravel. I found flavors of cantaloupe but was unable to detect any of the other flavors mentioned.   My Review: Quite dry, very acidic especially the after taste. The taste can only be described as grapey, like the skins of grapes. While I did not hate this wine, I would not try it again.

Tasting - Rodney Strong Rose of Pinot Noir

Name: Rodney Strong Variety: Rose of Pinot Noir Region: Sonoma Coast Country: USA Year: 2021 Price: $18   Winery Review: 100% Pinot Rose’. 12.5% alcohol, high acidity, medium low tannins. Opens with strawberry, rose hip, and stone. Palette offers more strawberry, cranberry skin, salty minerals, crisp apple, honeydew melon rind, and rose water. Finish is long crisp and refreshing. Perfect on a hot day – (T.D 3.9). Wine Folly: pg 150: I could detect the mushroom earthy flavor mentioned in the book.   My Review: This wine is Tart, earthy, and flowery . Slightly dry, with a sweet and sour aftertaste. I would try this wine again.
